Merry Xmass http://didyouknow.org/christmas/history/ History of Christmas In ancient pagan times, the last day of winter in the Northern Hemisphere was celebrated as the night that the Great Mother Goddess gives birth to the baby Sun God. It is also called Yule, the day a huge log is added to a bonf...

Re: I've made a booboo!!

(How I did this I really don't know) Ok. We won't know either. I logged on to my account and the browser said something about upgrading and said update, so I tried to update, searched the internet on how to do this, found a few solutions and used one. Used which one? Link? I can see where this is g...

Re: Not much going on in the forum lately

I did not know my mention of wajig would stir up a hornets nest. I never went with using gajig. I figured I'd rather have the terminal talking to me via command line with phrases like, " dpkg: antix-cc-base-antix: dependency problems, but configuring anyway as you requested:" I grinned like a cheshi...

Re: Not much going on in the forum lately

Hey! Get off my lawn. Sysremd, Jessie Freeze. Take some of these things into account when dealing with custom Debian live isos like SolydXK and others. Being a team member myself. I just hate it when systemd does not play well with custom written scripts in /usr/local/bin. Then stuff breaks. J...

Re: ALSA Not working on Toughbook CF-29

I don't have a CF-29. Just a older CF-48. It runs AntiX 13.2 with Wheezy repositories. If you have the FN + Volume key function. Maybe a hotkey has turned off sound. Google "Debian Sound Test" for command suggestions like https://wiki.debian.org/SoundConfiguration Make sure your user is added to the...

Re: ALSA Not working on Toughbook CF-29

Might want to poke around like I had to once long ago. When I say poke around, I mean check out /var/lib/alsa/asound.state Something might be turned off in there or marked false or whatever. http://antix.freeforums.org/eeepc-900-microphone-debian-wheezy-fix-antix-11-t3433.html Different computer. It is the holiday season.

Some folks are more prone to depression during this time of year.
Thankfully, I am not one of them.

Re: Software Manager not opening

Not knowing your file system when improperly shutdown.

Code: Select all

inxi -zv7
Might help with extra info provided.

If me. I would boot my live SolydXK (which ever) and open gparted and do a file system check on root and home
partitions in case file corruption from improper shutdown procedures.

Re: Can't find files taking up space on ssd

IS their a way to view the files via CLI. Maybe I can find which files are not showing in Dolphin. Not really practical in my limited linux know how. You will see when you run ls -alR If Me. I'd just break out my 30+ gig usb or sd card and move what is tying up /home/fargo to it to free up space. Y...
