Re: Several sound problems

Hm, your situation sounds different. I didn't switch and plug anything and I don't want to. Headphones are plugged into the rear and speakers into the front (vice versa would be ok too but for some reason doesn 't work under windows) . I want both to work simultaneously like it does under windows. U...

Re: Update manager problem

I tried sudo dpkg -i /var/cache/apt/archives/libc6_2.17-97_* and the other two commands directly afterwards. After the 3. command a lot of stuff started happening - so much that I can't copy any results for you. I'm looking at a constant stream of messages for about 30 min now. Two times I was asked...

Re: Update manager problem

I'm sorry for being inconsiderate. I already thought about that problem but Schoelje, being dutch, obviously didn't have a problem. Here goes: ~$ LC_ALL=C sudo dpkg-reconfigure libc6:amd64 /usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure: libc6:amd64 is broken or not fully installed :~$ LC_ALL=C sudo apt-get install libc...

Re: Update manager problem

No, I saw that line but I waited dutifully for your command - I'm too afraid to do something fatally stupid. Anyway, it didn't help as far as I understand. sudo apt-get -f install Paketlisten werden gelesen... Fertig Abhängigkeitsbaum wird aufgebaut. Statusinformationen werden eingelesen.... Fertig ...

Update manager problem [Solved]

I'm sorry to bother you again. I'm having problems with updating SolydX. Whenever I start the Update Manager it loads the updates from 15.1.2014 but the following message shows up (roughly translated): "Dependencies from 12 packages are corrupt. Choose the filter "corrupt packages" to show them." I ...

starter icons (solved)

I'm working on my Linux system again and of course new questions pop up. I'm trying to create a desktop in WinXP-style - putting icons with my favourite programs everywhere. I'm creating the icons by right-click - create starter - and choosing the program I want. Everything works fine, icon pops up ...

Re: Auto mount data partitions

So should I use any of these options or are you saying that it doesn't matter anyway on ntfs partitions?

I want the system (root?) to have access to one of the partitions. There will be executable code there - if everything works like I want it.

Re: Auto mount data partitions

Oops <facepalm> .... thank you. I mounted everything into /mnt now. It seems that I have read and write access there, which is good. Can I leave it like that? Since I'm trying to slowly migrate from windows all my data is on ntfs formatted partitions. Other forum posts recommend a lot of additional ...

Auto mount data partitions [solved]
