Re: I just lost my network connection with the latest updates (SolydXEE)

This might get better attention in the "testing" rubric. Anyway, please post the output of: sudo NetworkManager --version systemctl status NetworkManager Dmesg | grep <insert some suitable search term for your network hardware here> It might be this issue: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1135412/upd...

Re: Chroot

"source /etc/profile" means run the command. But I can't really tell you since I've never done anything like that. There might be a problem with the path in the environment so that apt doesn't find the right file. I also don't really understand why you want to do updates with chroot. I could underst...

Doesn''t work for me either. Maybe a regression, you'll have to report that upstream.

Re: Chroot

Is the repo key verified if you do this from inside SolydXK without chroot?

Does this help: http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?t=135062?

Re: Cinnamon Desktop auf Solydx EE11

Cinnamon is in the repo so it should. If it works with Debian it will work with SolydXK. I don't have any practical experiences though, especially not on bullseye. I don't think anyone here has. There was some discussion about SolydM(ate) a while back but not about Cinnamon.

Re: [Solved] Still unable to see other installs

It took me some time to figure that out. I started at the wrong end ... but glad it works now. @Arjen: Is that GRUB_GFXMODE setting our default? I don't know because I changed something because our default grub menu looked so ugly (very pixely resolution) and I wanted the old small grub menu back. I...

Re: Still unable to see other installs

Don't worry, I deleted them.
As for the grub.cfg - the only thing differing from default settings is that you have "GRUB_GFXMODE=1024x768" active. Try to deactivate it with a leading "#". Maybe your display doesn't support that setting. Do you see the grub menu at all?

Re: New ISOs in ce/testing

If somebody really needs a stretch ISO it will be fine to use an old one and run updates. Don't bother, I just wanted some cleanup while you (maybe) still remember which was which. The best of each version archived in one directory called "Archive".

Re: Still unable to see other installs

I downloaded your result1.txt. The code you uploaded in the following 5 or 7 posts seems to be the same, I did not look at it. If there's anything important in it please point me to it, otherwise, please delete those redundant posts. The bootinfoscript results1.txt looks ok. It should show all menu ...

Re: Still unable to see other installs

No idea about changing graphic/text, never did that. Did you look at the tutorial link I posted? There you can see: sudo bootinfoscript If it's not installed on your system it should at least be on the live ISO under /usr/bin. There's also another version which you can install from the debian repo w...

So it found Debian sid and Mageia but doesn't show them in the boot menu? That's strange. Did you check the bootinfoscript report?

+1 against closed source messengers. I'm using Matrix/Riot and I can recommend it. I doubt that we will establish an official channel though.

Don't invest time into stretch. I just wanted to know which ISO is the last working one. And suggest to put them into a separate directory.

Re: SolydX 201902 review on distrowatch

There are actually a lot of reviews on youtube, some more or less useless like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLrfCrO2ruE but also more extensive ones like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JrMAx1bDd0 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVbYwFeaqrA - all positive. Nothing that we'd need to have a cl...

Re: Still unable to see other installs

I've never used grub2-install, so I don't know what would happen. I've always used grub-install. You have to do it from a live system though, not from a running system. A tutorial about repairing EFI boot is here: https://forums.solydxk.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=7468. Does your machine use EFI or not?...

Re: New ISOs in ce/testing

It's never good to have only one person working on a project. Having a second person building and testing is important. Ideally, two persons are not enough, we are already a too small team. If problems come up having somebody knowledgable to discuss it with helps. "Rubber ducky debugging" is really ...

I used to use Geany but for my Udacity courses I changed to Netbeans since I had to do HTML/CSS/JS and needed the integrated webserver. Re: make partitions persistence

What do you mean by "active and persistent"? Did you install SolydX? From the ISO9660 partition it doesn't look like an installed system. There is nothing "persistent" on a live system, that's the way a live system is meant to be.
