Re: [NOT SOLVED] Playonlinux no wine option.

If you rightclick on the file you wish to open with wine ==> select open with and point to /usr/bin/wine it should appear in your dialog menu (at least on KDE it does)

From the Board Index it's under Community > Community Packages Requests
From there make a new post explaining what you would like to see in the repo

Re: Kingsoft Office

If it isn't in the repos you could make a Community Package Request (you can pull it from their website if you really need it)
Or try a substitute like Calligra or Libreoffice

Re: Gramps genealogy system

Now I can give the newest version a whirl! :D Looking at your sig you might want so search for the equivalent 32 bits packages (shouldn't be too hard to find them) Also keep in mind that the debs pull stuff from unstable so this is probably not the best solution for production machines (better stay...

Kudos to Gazza. It looks simple and efficient. Great Job. Just tested the app. in KDE and it works great sounds great as well (just the shortcuts are missing but those can be altered with some research). BTW found this link on howto install other voices. Re: ‘error while loading shared libraries: libcurl.so.4’

So, my next question is how do I install the 32 bit libraries? To establish what architecture you're actually running try dpkg --print-architecture if it returns amd64 you're on a 64 bits system according to this site run: ldd ./thedarkmod.x86 to find out what libraries the program is looking for. ...

Re: ‘error while loading shared libraries: libcurl.so.4’

A simple symlink should do the trick without compromising the original file:

Code: Select all

sudo ln -s /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcurl.so.4 /usr/lib//libcurl.so.4
if it doesn't work simply remove the link

Code: Select all

sudo rm /usr/lib//libcurl.so.4

Re: Desktop Icon Spacing

You are dismissing the time and effort the developers and maintaners are putting in this distro and distro's in general quite easily. I feel they don't deserve that. These guys are volunteers (geeks in some cases) who like what they do and are willing to share their passion with others. Not some mul...

it looks promising and Festival (1.2 release is in our current repos; seems outdated as their latest version is 2.1 and the 32 bits version can be obtained here. Xsel is in our repo as well

Perhaps Xubuntu came with firetray pre-installed.
Do a websearch for thunderbird firetray and you can check it out yourself.
There's also this link on the mailwatch plugin in Xubuntu

Now you did not do that did you? I may have to go read the responses! Haha no way you get flamed, burned, beheaded and whatnot if you try that. I take it you read Jeff Story's experiences on the arch forums? I never got FURCH working properly (which is basically just Antergos). AUI is commandline d...
