Re: Random SolydX freezes

I did as you told. Ilu. I thank you for the time you use for me. I have made a try (earlier, using Mint-Xcfe), and I had the proprietary NVDIA driver : it crashed the same way. So should I now install the NVDIA driver ? olivier@linolivier:~$ sudo journalctl -b -1 [sudo] password for olivier: -- Logs...

Re: Random SolydX freezes

I was watching the fascinating spectacle that journalctl -f is. And this time I didn't to wait long for the next crash. As it happens, I had decided to write the most «remarkable» events that I could see from this journal. The last three entries were : Apr 30 07:30:32 linolivier kernel: perf: interr...

Re: Is it possible to downgrade to a 4.8 kernel in stretch ?

Actually, I don't know what I want. I don't know anymore. My problem started as told in this thread : https://forums.solydxk.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7486 The problem I described was away, but I came back with a revenge. Now this machine can't run more than a few hours, and then it freezes. As I have...

Re: ee edition Solydk supported by SolydXK Team ?

I can only help with 4. : thunderbird I had definitely no thunderbird running. I had it not to launch automatically by the start. And I proofed several times with the task manager, and no «thunderbird» task was there before I launched thunderbird. But no warranty the problem is not «mine», because i...

Re: ee edition Solydk supported by SolydXK Team ?

So, an update about my (short) experience with ee 1) my DVD problem was probably a «dvd» problem, and no iso problem : I could boot and even install from the same iso through an USB stick 2) I wonder why the iso is so much bigger than the «classic» iso 3) I accept that it is normal, but the «updatin...

Re: ee edition Solydk supported by SolydXK Team ?

First machine : AMD K5 (64bits) based desktop, 8 Gb memory, second machine is a Lenovo Thinkpad, also 8 Gb, the third is a Samsung laptop, i9 processor, 8 Gb. Those three machines were «infected» with SolydX many times, with several generations of DVDs / isos, and are working. I just wanted to try t...

Re: ee edition Solydk supported by SolydXK Team ?

Tried to install : after burning on DVD, the ee (from solydxee_10_64_201902.iso), and it can't load on any of my three machines. It just hangs before SolydX starts. All the checksums are ok, but nothing after the yellow-with-X,

Re: what switches my screens off ?

I 've had this machine for more than 8 years, and didn't change the BIOS all this time, so I didn't. But I did reinstall the Power Manager, and this solved the problem. I had uninstalled the PM wit the «complete Removal» option. I guess the source of the problem was an option of the PM that I had ch...

what switches my screens off ? [SOLVED]

Hi there ! I have a strange problem (SolydX 9 201902). A few weeks ago (so before SolydX 9 201902, I run the version from 201807), my machine went bonkers. Everytime my screens went off (typically after 15 minutes), by waking, ma machine froze. The music I was playing would into broken record mode, ...

Re: SolydXK 201902 released

I just installed SolydX 201902. Just one glitch : I have a few more partitions then / and /home. The installer worked just fine, but it didn't keep the «labels» I entered. I had to correct that after the installation (gparted). And I noted that, as I gave my custom mount points, my partitions were b...

The file is too big to attach. Even with 5 seconds. Re: [solved ... and then not !!!] kworker is killing my machine again ...

Record some 10 seconds of backtraces on all your CPUs: sudo perf record -g -a sleep 10
Should I do it while my machine is in normal state, or in crisis mode ?
