Re: Multimedia Dud

Huh. Well. :? Don't know why it wouldn't'a installed for me ...? And I could have searched for that bug myself. As to the volume control. I had to right click on the volume icon --> configure channels --> Settings --> Select Master Channel. I switched from Built-in Audio Digital Stereo to Bui...

Multimedia Dud

Took me about 25 minutes to figure out why Amarok was behaving like a door stop (wasn't playing any of my media files). Turns out gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly wasn't installed by default. Why? And what's the following about? The server failed the authenticity check (librivox.org). The certificate auth...

Day two of SolydK, and I'm liking it very much. Muon seems unstable, but good other than that. My point of reference, for now, is Enigma (NetrunnerOS) -- which I'm using on my other system. They have a couple refinements that I've added to Solydk. The homerun app launcher, for example, might be nice...

Re: Lancelot KDE Launcher

Thanks, but I wasn't looking for answers. I was making a suggestion: Include Lancelot. It's not a demand, just a suggestion.

Re: Lancelot KDE Launcher

2 Cents. The first thing I tried to do after installing Solydk was to install Lancelot. I'm still new enough to KDE that I assumed it would be immediately available. No. Couldn't find it. I then chose add new widgets. Much to my surprise, it's also not available in the Plasma Desktop Shell Add-on In...

Re: SolydXK Update Packs explained

Okay, I'm feeling stupid. So... Am I correct in understanding that SolydXK does not default to UP after installation? And if I want to defult to UP, I have to change (or hash out) my sources list from: deb http://packages.solydxk.nl/production/ solydxk main upstream import kdenext deb http://debian....

Re: LCD Hinting in KDE

Thanks Zerozero, I've already been playing with that, as you suggested, and think I've gotten to a pretty good compromise. I'm content with the results. Is there a better way to restart the plasma desktop (to test changes in the panel) than the following? And this will be my last question on this to...

LCD Hinting in KDE

Hi, Have just installed SolydK. Heard good things about it. My question (for the devs) is this, the font rendition is very, very poor and difficult to read on my system (Acer Aspire One). The problem would be simple to fix if I were using SolydX. I could set LCD Font Hinting , as opposed to hinting ...
