Recently, a security vulnerability was detected in the wget package: https://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.c ... =2014-4877
This was fixed upstream and in Debian Unstable on 27 October.

This morning I noticed the update coming in from Debian Testing. Although the Security Tracker claims it does have a DSA number (3062), the DSA page, the Security Announce Mailing List and the Package Tracker show no sign of it at this time (02-11-2014 11:00 CET).

I intend to upload wget 1.16-1 to the Security Repository no later than just before noon (CET). It should be available a couple of minutes later.

A security update for curl is currently being uploaded:

curl 7.38.0-3
Debian Security Advisory: https://www.debian.org/security/2014/dsa-3069
Package Tracking System: http://packages.qa.debian.org/c/curl.html

This update should be available from the Security Repository in about 20 minutes.

Another update, for qemu 2.1+dfsg-7, will have to be held back. It requires an update of the libjpeq-turbo package. Attempting to include that in a testing VM resulted in several dozen other packages being removed...

Please use the 'Talk' thread for any comments or questions regarding the security updates.

A security update for the linux kernel (to version 3.16.7-2) will be uploaded later today:
Debian Security Advisory: https://www.debian.org/security/2014/dsa-3060
Package Tracking System: http://packages.qa.debian.org/l/linux.html

This requires an update of the linux-latest packages (to version 63), which will be uploaded as well:
Package Tracking System: http://packages.qa.debian.org/l/linux-latest.html

These updates should be available from the Security Repository shortly after 13:00 CET (12:00 UTC).

As this is a kernel update, machines with nvidia graphics may have issues with it. If necessary you should be able to boot the previous kernel from the GRUB menu.
