New nightly builds: http://downloads.solydxk.nl/nightly/

Using bashrc from bash instead of our own and an updated USB Creator that now uses udisks2 instead of udisks. The latter needs some testing, though: viewtopic.php?t=6636

Had to reinstall SolydK on my laptop and used the November snapshot. It worked like a champion.

Many thanks, Schoelje.

I think that I have just had and have still got the same problem.
After a summer break I updated the system that I was using and after restart there was no mouse.
I reinstalled the original ISO that I had saved and proved that the hardware at least work. The original NOOB worked to.
I have now reinstalled the origonal ISO and recreated the issue by updating this system.

The original ISO is "solydxrpi_201603.img"

Do I need to get the latest ISO?
Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm afraid there's not much you can do now and I won't have any time this month to take a look at it.
I recommend to not update your system until I've got this sorted out.
Also, did you try another mouse?

@Peter Mason
Today I updated SolydX RPI for my son and had no issues whatsoever.
I uploaded a nightly build. Perhaps it solves your issue as well:

The iso works a treat for me.

Is it worth risking an update?

It is usually safe to upgrade. I really don't know what went wrong with your system.

I've uploaded new nightlies: http://downloads.solydxk.nl/nightly/

These use packages still in the testing repository which I will move to the main repository somewhere this week. These packages prepares for the upcoming transition of stretch to become the next stable.

I've also included SolydX RPI.

I replaced the nightlies because of a bug in the live installer.

Ran the install again and it went through.
Maybe just a glitch.

I've uploaded new nightlies due to the reported issue with the live installer not being able to set passwords with more than 8 characters.

If you are alright with it I'd like to release these ISOs. Just let me know.

Download them here: http://downloads.solydxk.nl/nightly/

good.

Am I wrong or we do not have (at least in solydk) the update manager anymore?

In case anybody wants to make sure passwords longer than 8 characters get used correctly on an already installed system, just change root and user password(s). No need to update anything, schoeljes patch is only for the installer.

palimmo: The old update manager is gone from SolydXK-9. It got replaced by other apps.

I've updated the ISOs to include the pulse issue: viewtopic.php?t=6986&p=66277

Together withe the password length bug (viewtopic.php?t=6998&p=66226) I think these are good candidates to replace the current official ISOs.

If somebody would object to this I'd like to hear it. If not I'd like to release these updated ISOs somewhere next week.

One thing you may want to think about: I haven't created a 'python alternative' on the CE ISOs (and I'm also removing the relevant bit of code from the upgrade section in solydfixes). It makes no sense, as 'python' should never refer to anything other than python2. See https://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0394/, https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2 ... 00074.html and https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2 ... 00093.html.

Not an ISO issue as such, but I'm not sure about some of the bits in adjust.py. The latest change may be a pain for some users. It was for me: it apparently messed up a 'well balanced' audio volume setting. I manually restored the daemon.conf file to its original state (and restarted pulseaudio), but although the volume control now behaves normally again, the 'balance' is gone of course.
In general, I'm not a fan of 'fixing' things through adjust.py, though it usually turns out OK. For my own system, I always check the changes first (was too busy with other things this time...) and make files immutable if necessary.

I've uploaded new nightlies.
These includes the merge of DDM into SolydXK System Settings (still in testing): viewtopic.php?t=7020&p=66431#p66431
