A while back I heard there was going to be an option to upgrade to debian testing instead of debian stable (now jessie), and there was going to be community support for it on the forums. Will this materialize?
Also, is it practical to upgrade to jessie, for now, and then change to testing, later?
Upgrading to 'testing'?
Re: Upgrading to 'testing'?
You can update to testing now. Until jessie gets released Solyd will be the same as testing.
You can follow this post and it will keep going after jessie goes stable:

You can change your sources.list to this and you will be in testing after jessie goes stable.
Anyone can correct me if I have any of this wrong

The sources.list is correct.
When you changed your sources.list you can follow the instructions to upgrade in the "HE to Jessie" topic: http://forums.solydxk.nl/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=5095

So it's just some kind of preparation? But my question is, can I do this upgrade and then switch to debian testing later? This upgrade will point your system to either Debian Jessie (Home Editions) or Debian Wheezy (Business Editions).
The Update Manager will automate the process but if you prefer to upgrade by terminal or if you want to upgrade your Business Edition to Jessie, please follow the support links below.

Simple answer... Yes
Testing will not be supported here by the Team.
