Old Business and Home repositories removed

Postby Arjen Balfoort » 04 Mar 2015 08:01

Today I have removed (with some delay) the old repositories for the Business and Home editions.

If you encounter any errors while upgrading, please follow the instructions in my blog of January 31, "Ready for the transition and new ISOs", to upgrade your system.

These repositories are no longer available:
business.solydxk.nl
business-debian.solydxk.nl
debian.solydxk.nl
home.solydxk.nl
home-debian.solydxk.nl
packages.solydxk.nl
Make sure that your /etc/apt/sources.list file is configured correctly: http://forums.solydxk.nl/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1529

What should those of us that still are running the Back Office Edition do?

Update as mentioned in the blog and follow the "BE to Wheezy" instructions: http://forums.solydxk.nl/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=5246

Note that the BO packages are no longer maintained and are not in the repository. It's a matter of time that these packages seize to function and you'll need to install the software from the maintainer's site.

Ok I understand that.
Should the system be udated to Jessie instead?
What happens to Wheezy when Jessie goes stable?

Updating to Jessie will brake some of the BO packages. Wheezy becomes old stable and you can keep on using it for some time.

I know you are not supporting the BO systems anymore.
But if you wanted to keep using the BO system with the packages that were installed on it what would you do with the system if it were yours?

I'd comment out all repositories in sources.list and stop updating that system.
In the mean time I'd install a regular (new stable) system and manually install those packages I need and switch when tested and done.

You can leave out the community repository for SolydK, and SolydX if you don't need it.
I still have
in my sources.list file.

I'm not sure if I need this or not, what's the CLI or list to find out what files are in the community and / or what I have installed?

Thanks

Check the URL: http://community.solydxk.nl/production/pool/main/
There are just a few packages and the latest is of May 15 2014.
I'm thinking of removing that repository and move those packages to the regular repository if people still need those outdated packages.

Thanks,

I'll be removing the community from my sources.list
