I see why having japanes/chinese/russian ISOs is a good idea but what are the advantages of german or dutch ISOs? (Knowing that these languages are very close to english and asuming that everybody in these countries has at least a rudimentary knowledge of english language, enough to get him/her through the first install screen.)

I had encountered the problem of 64bit version of Firefox ESR starts in English.
The place of the reference to the root folder where extracted ISO,
it was noticed that does not exist "/etc/skel/.mozilla/firefox/mwad0hks.default/prefs.js".
The 32-bit version exists it is.
As a result, it seems Firefox settings are not changed.

I see in the path that you're using the Enthusiast's Editions (solydkee) and not the regular official release?

/etc/skel/.mozilla/firefox/mwad0hks.default/prefs.js is part of firefox-solydxk-adjustments.
Is that package installed?

[EDIT]
I downloaded SolydK EE 64 and localized it to Japanase.
/etc/skel/.mozilla/firefox/mwad0hks.default/prefs.js was successfully adapted.

Since 64bit are included Firefox ESR,
the package is right "firefox-esr-solydxk-adjustments" I was understanding.
I will re-install the package, also tries to build.

Yes, firefox-esr-solydxk-adjustments is used when firefox-esr is installed.
Please check for firefox-esr first: version number of both packages must be the same.
To be sure, you can also reinstall firefox-esr:

Code: Select all

apt update
apt install --reinstall firefox-esr firefox-esr-solydxk-adjustments

Firefox issues are in the can not be resolved. :|
but this is a problem of only the ESR, it will be reflected properly in Firefox of the latest version.
Therefore, although I want to switch to Firefox the latest version of the Japanese ISO, it Will there objection?

There is another reason. Firefox ESR does not have the name recognition in Japan.
By using the Firefox ESR for that, there is a risk of encountering the unknown support trouble.
By using the Firefox of the latest version and want to avoid this trouble I think.

The localized ISOs are Community Editions. So, if you need to make changes for your localized ISOs to make them function properly or prevent legal issues you may do so.

Just see the regular (official) ISOs as generic editions and a template for the CEs. Of course, the CEs must still be recognizable as SolydXK or else you just created a new distribution :)

I was built to change to the latest version of Firefox for 64bit ISO.
I was to boot the ISO, Firefox became a Japanese display. :D

When working the SolydX 32-bit 201607 (CE) to the base,
I have encountered trouble some of the partition has been destroyed.
Please note on the state of the partition when you make the build work.

If the work directory is the path that includes a space,
SolydXK Constructor seems to be an unintended action.
Thereby partition has corrupted possibility.

It would probably have occurred regardless of the type of ISO.

Correct me if I'm wrong but does the constructor not handle paths with spaces correctly?

Could you give us an example of a path and tell me what you did to break the ISO?

To the working directory to a different partition, it was going to mount.
The label name was, for example, "SolydX EE Work".
The user name is a "balloon".
Therefore mount path is "/media/balloon/SolydX EE Work/..."

I was looking at the log of SolydXK Constructor,
I was sure that there is a case to be processed by dividing the space.
In other words, it tries to process in "/media/balloon/Solyd", "EE" and "Work/...".

There is a behavior that solidified a long period of time in the pre-build of the cleanup,
I was interrupted the process feel abnormal.
But then part of the partition is admirably files and folders are deleted, had become empty.

As a result, I must re-install some distributions... :|

I do not know what to relate to it, but the size of the ISO had become abnormally large.

After I modify the label of the partition, was re-build, it looks to be running normally.

I've uploaded a new version of the constructor which should handle paths with spaces correctly.

Guys, do you remember Universal Edition of Linux Mint in the past?

Instead one iso with one language, we could insert more languages

Exemple:
spanish, portuguese, brazilian portuguese, french and italian (iso 1)
english, german, dutch etc (iso 2)
japanese, korean, chinese etc (iso 3)

and full support for libreoffice also ;)
