@kyodev
I moved your post to the SolydXK Conky topic.
Try this: open the SolydXK Conky GUI > system > Select Swap instead of Battery > Click "Save"

I keep a backup of .conkyrc and clock_rings.lua, so it's not a problem, but is there a template file for these somewhere that I could edit instead o that I can use the "SolydXK Conky" manager, have it make future desired changes but keep my edits?

Thanks,

Edit: Nevermind ... I think I found what I'm looking for.
I see templates (or base files, whatever they are called) are located in:
/usr/lib/solydxk/conky/cfg/ folder.
I see conkyrc, conky-start and clock_rings.lua there.

I'll check these out and see if I can make my edits there (e.g. slight changes to clock rings, clock location or Wifi ring instead of Swap or BAT ring).
This way I can keep chages I've made but still be able to use "SolydXK Conky" manager.
I want to do the same thing. Did this work? Were your changes retained?

With the 2014.04.15 update, SolydXK Conky no longer shows an Update Pack number. I think it is probably because of the change to the new Update Manager 2.10, because the last line in the /home/(your user name)/.conkyrc file is:

${color FF8000}Update Pack:${alignr}${color FFFFFF}${pre_exec grep . /usr/lib/solydxk/updatemanager/up.hist | tail -1}

Can anyone tell me how to change this line to make it work again with the new Update Pack? Or does it have to be corrected somewhere else?

CJTx2
The new file name is called updatemanager.hist and mine contains the following:up=2014.01.15
up=2014.04.15
I just cut and pasted 2014.04.15 in the up.hist file and conky shows the date. I had to make a up hist file as it was no longer there after the update.

I've made a small update to solydxk-conky, and uploaded it to the testing repository.
If someone could try this one out, I'm a bit occupied right now: http://packages.solydxk.nl/testing/pool ... dxk-conky/

Ran the new Conky 1.0.0 File. The conky works with the Update line omitted. Which at least looks better than the Update: nothing did.

I know you are super busy and it is a very minor thing. It would be nice to have, but not to worry about it.

Thank you nuts2u for this tip. It will work as a temporary fix for me until Schoelje can get to that Whenever I Have Time To Do List. :lol:

I went back to install Conky on my SolydXK SolydX.

How do I change the colors?

How do I change the word SolydXK by SolydX?

It is possible to change the analog clock with a digital?

Hello jsvenancio,
About changing colors, you can have a look at this post: http://forums.solydxk.com/viewtopic.php?p=12574#p12574

At that moment, it is not possible to change these elements on the GUI (the graphical interface) but manually it is possible. But I can't help you further I'm afraid. I hope someone could help you more.
They did not know it was impossible so they did it.

Good afternoon.

Thank you to respond.
I noticed that Conky appears always repeated (2 or 3). How do I only one to appear? The ".conkyrc" file where the meeting?

EDIT; Conky-SolydXK can be added to Conky-Manager?

SolydXK-conky is independant from Conky-Manager. I don't know if the dev of Conky manager wants to put Solyd stuff in his program.
To see .conkyrc, open your personal file, and go to the 'view' menu and choose 'show hidden files'. You can enable/disable this option with the same method.
About the conky reappearing, I suppose you opened it twice. Cleaning all configuration files (by deleting .conkyrc file) could perhaps be an option. But I'm not really sure of that.
They did not know it was impossible so they did it.

sleep 2
conky -d -c ~/.conky/way to your conky
exit

I have spent some time improving solydxk-conky but somehow I cannot get it to work as it should.
It all starts fine but it stops updating after a while. It stays frozen for a long time and then start updating again, skipping seconds and freezes again after a while.

Does anybody else have that too?

If you're interested in the updated version: http://repository.solydxk.nl/pool/main/s/solydxk-conky/

[EDIT]
I see...if I comment this line in .conkyrc, all's well:

Code: Select all

exec wget -q -O - checkip.dyndns.org | sed -e 's/.*Current IP Address: //' -e 's/<.*$//'
Is there another way of getting the external IP address?
