Problem with Device-Mapper ?

Postby rolgiati » 03 Nov 2014 13:29

This morning, I plugged my Kindle in with the usual usb cable, and was surprised by a message:

Code: Select all

Error mounting /dev/sdi1 at /media/Kindle: Command-line `mount -t "vfat" -o "uhelper=udisks2,nodev,nosuid,uid=1000,gid=1000,shortname=mixed,dmask=0077,utf8=1,showexec,flush" "/dev/sdi1" "/media/Kindle"' exited with non-zero exit status 32: mount: /dev/sdi1 already mounted or /media/Kindle busy
Looked with # df no kindle listed as mounted.

Looked in Thunar, two kindles shown in the Devices, one with the Eject icon on the right.

Clicked on the first one, get the error message again; clicked on the second one, "Failed to mount "Kindle". Not authorized to perform operation." Clicked on the Eject, Kindles comes out of the USB Drive Mode.

Looked at dmesg:

Code: Select all

so I looked at dmsetup and got:

Code: Select all

root@ron:/home/ron # dmsetup status
Kindle_Internal_Storage_B008A0A012230H70-0:0: 0 6410688 multipath 2 0 0 0 1 1 A 0 1 2 8:128 A 0 0 1
Kindle_Internal_Storage_B008A0A012230H70-0:0-part1: 0 6410672 linear
so I unplugged the Kindle, ran

Code: Select all

root@ron:/home/ron # dmsetup remove_all
and rebooted; upon plugging the Kindle in, same error.

At this point I am stumped.

Later: I also have the same problem when I plug in my phone, or a USB Pen-drive...
