The Welcome screen shows no drivers needed.
Should I click the Start Device Driver Manager, I think that is what I did a month or so ago which mayhave caused most of my troubles.

That's it. No Xorg configuration file found. Now you've created one.

Stay away from ddm!!!!

Just reboot.
This likely means that your installation is broken. -Mr Pixbuf.
