Seeing a mystery indicator in my task manager

Postby BostonPeng » 11 Mar 2018 23:44

Since the big Plasma upgrade, I'm noticing a number pops up on my task manager. Usually it's a one ("1") and I'll see it if I've got a number of programs running, but I can't figure out what it means for the life of me.

It's not an indication that something's happened because today while I was streaming the LA Dodgers game it showed up on a Dolphin task that was sitting idly waiting for me to use it again. Does anyone know what it is?

Are you talking about the white-on-blue number on the vlc symbol? Is it always on the vlc icon? I can't find a definitive source but I think it means that vlc is saving a stream somewhere.

I don't see any Dolphin task.

It's on the VLC tile in the picture, but I see it pretty often with Chrome, but not on the tab that's streaming the ballgame. I've also seen it on a tile for Dolphin.
