boot on Macbook Pro fails

Just reporting my first test booting from usb on a macbook pro santa rosa core duo

using this tip, which seems to work:
http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions ... b-on-a-mac

2.271981 CPU0: core temperature above threshold, cpu clock throttled
events=1
3.801559 i8042: no controller found
Loading, please wait...

(never finishes)
I am not sure the temperature is the issue, as it is due to only one functioning fan. mac os x 10.5 boots fine.

I have no DVD drive. I must install from USB flash.

hi,
but the procedure (with the due adaptations) should be the same
- dvd > usb
- LMDE > SolydXK
(of course i don't have a Mac, so i can't say if that howto works 100%)

But wouldn't it be cool to have SolydK running on a Macbook?

If you ever get this working, jbshirk, you really should make a tutorial here!

no it's not that simple. macs don't have BIOS, but instead EFI, which doesn't play nice with bootable usb pendrives.
