some interesting readings

X has more d/l than K globally
289 vs 246

X is more requested in 32bit
120 direct d/l plus 40 torrents = 160
K has more 64bit d/ls
106 direct d/l plus 35 torrents = 141
bliss of ignorance

I'm kind of surprised X is more popular, but they seem very close (and the numbers are rather early). It means we (hopefully) don't have the problem that Mint had where certain editions were much more popular than others. I guess X is more for older computers than K, so that could explain the greater number of 32-bit downloads for X (I downloaded one of each because I have one 64-bit and one 32-bit).

The other possibility is the X ISO is simply smaller, which would help people with limited bandwidth. Either way, I'm glad we're getting a large number of downloads :D .

Yeah, that's an interesting surprise to me as well. I thought we had more French users actually.

It's cool to see the diversity though :)

comparing one(ish) month later
04 apr 2013 19h30

X has more d/l than K globally (again)
776 vs 713

X is more requested in 32bit (again)
312 direct d/l plus 129 torrents = 441

K has more 64bit d/ls (again also)
291 direct d/l plus 136 torrents = 427

no major chances, consolidation of the tendency seen from the beginning.

That stat box thing is cool 8-) (at least I didn't say "thingy").

The data is quite interesting. It's good that K and X are still very close, although I'm happy X is slightly ahead ;) .

Download statistics upgraded:
I now save the downloads in our local database to make sure we keep our history.
I don't mind about the main site's views, so I get those from the wordpress database. We could even leave them out.
Mirrors are now also included.

Are the download stats something to add to the product pages of the main site?

I think other users would be interested in seeing download stats. The one going on the main site may need some condensing (maybe not broken up by mirror on the main site? I don't know how hard that is to do).

Not hard at all: I just take a total of SolydX or SolydK downloads.

we are not getting an huge new forum members a day (averaging 2/3) but we see picks of 5/6 everytime we have a mention in the media.

ofc this has room for improvement but also shows that we can excite the market and advert will bring revenue.

Today we passed the 100.000 visitors to our site!
We also reached exactly 3600 downloads, and I think that we accomplished quite a lot in such a short time.

I attached a pdf with the top views per country.
It's no surprise that the U.S.A. is the absolute leader, but I'm happy to see that the countries without visitors are getting less each time.
