Cannot login

Installed 3 times.

I get the login screen, but the password I gave for the user I setup will not work.

I cant even find in documentation what the standard root password is for SolydXK

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you've successfully installed SolydK on your computer, your root password is the same as the account you set up.

I do know there are some restrictions on what is "allowed" in Linux password and what is not. I also know that, at one time, some of these restrictions were not well addressed in Linux installers.

You might be able to log in as root through a console (from the login window, press Ctrl-Alt-FX, x being between 1 and 6), enter 'root' as the user name (no quotes) and the password you entered.

If that gets you logged in, you can change both the root password (should you wish to do so) and the first account password (one at a time) with:

Code: Select all

# passwd [LOGIN]
for the 'root', just skip the account name as passwd defaults to the current account.

Thanks, but I tried your suggestions and it still stays the same.

Would this have to do anything with it being installed on a HD on in a Virtual Box? Though I do not have this issue with other versions of SolydX in VB.

Have you checked the md5sum after downloading the ISO?
Sometimes creating a new VM from scratch helps.
