<SOLVED> UM shows Current version and New version the same

Not sure if this was ever reported, did not find it in the forum.

The UM always reports the same version number for the package being updated between the Current and the New.
Of course, after the upgrade the versions are different, as expected, otherwise what is the purpose of the update!

To illustrate this, the output that shows that the New version is 11.2.202.411, and a screen capture of the latest update of the flashplugin package showing the same Current and New versions (11.2.202.406)

Thanks for reporting this.
I thought I had that solved, but it seems that that solution only functions in the home editions.
Unfortunately, I have very little time and much to do before Jessie becomes stable.
When that time comes it will solve itself because you will have the same python libraries as we now have in the home editions.

Today, there was an update on the update manager (version 2.4.3).
Does that have the same issue?

So, after you update 2.4.1, does it list the packages/versions correctly (before the UP upgrade)?

yes, UM is updated today from 2.4.1 to 2.4.3 (with the new UP) as it shows in the output bellow.
however in the screen before (where it lists the previous and new versions of the packages) both version number are the same

Code: Select all

The following packages will be upgraded:
  updatemanager
1 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 1095 not upgraded.

After this operation, 21.5 kB of additional disk space will be used.

After the update of the UM from version 2.4.1 to version 2.4.3, the packages Current version and New version are now different, with the New version number being higher than the Current version, as should be expected.

This issue now appears to be fixed by the new UM.
