Hi mistergil,

fyi

Palemoon linux version 24.6.0 just been released.

Wayne,
The souceforge site had a link to install the latest version. It has a file called pminstaller but it installed 24.4.2 on my system and says it is the latest version.
Should I just download the tar file and extract to the palemoon install folder?
Thanks
Dan

First, you can follow the wiki
http://sourceforge.net/p/pm4linux/wiki/ ... tallation/

I usually do these steps
1. download the pminstaller
2. cd to the directory that has pminstaller
3. untar with
tar -xvf <filename of the installer>
4. you will see two files, one Readme, another the pminstaller.sh
5. change to root
6. execute ./pminstaller.sh , then choose to install
7. when it asked you the version to install, type in the latest, which is 24.6.0
8. when it completes, close the installer's windows, and find the PM icon in 'Internet'.

enjoy.

Wayne,
I must have something wrong on my system.
I followed your instruction and still end up with 24.4.2.
Also no PM in internet .
Thanks
Dan
I am going to purge PM and see what happens.

Do you already have old version installed?

If yes, you should uninstall it, use the same pminstaller.sh, select uninstall.

Ok something is stuck in my KDE config somewhere from the way I was running Palemoon previously.
I don't have a PM in the internet section of the menu and when I use Alt-F2 and type Palemoon I get this:
snapshot3.png
snapshot3.png (28.26 KiB) Viewed 1282 times
If I locate the palemoon.desktop file and launch it from there it launces fine.
This is beyond my knowledgebase.
Thanks
Dan

I believe I have solved it for the most part.
I went into File Associations and removed the link that was pointing to the wrong location.
Saved that and Palemoon showed up in KDE Internet menu and launches.
Does not launch with Alt-F2 but I don't care about that.
