OpenVPN for private use

Postby ess82 » 15 Jun 2014 12:20

Hello guys, I need to set up openvpn on my wheezy home server so I can use it from outside of the country, it's going to be strictly private and I need to be able to access resources on the home server, samba shares access to be precise.

I was reading last hour about how to configure it, but I'm not sure how to make the client get a LAN address and communicate to other devices on network, do I follow the 'tap' method. And if so, does it involve big changes in client (SolydK) network configuratuion?

My goal is to set up that openvpn server, get certificates and then just go into 'Connection editor', add an openvpn network using those 3 files and a password and then just connect and access files on my home server (and also get UK IP address :D )

Can anyone point me the right direction or explain what to set in config files?

Thank you ;)
