Sorry for the late reply. I've been on holidays.
Unfortunately, I don't have an envidia card but whenever I have your problem I create a new user account and use that to login. Usually that account works and I can work through all the config files until I find the corrupt one.

Re: Problem with nVidia
But is it possible to create a new user account without being able to login with the current user?

Uh-oh you don't want software to enter your system through a backdoor. :duck-and-cover ...
Do you want to use debian backports?
1. Activate the backports repository in SolydX System Settings: 2nd tab (Repositories) - check "Activate Backports" - click "Save Backports"
2. then update in terminal: sudo apt-get update
3. then install your package from backports with: sudo apt-get install -t stretch-backports <packagename>

I have absolutely no experience with nvidia but if this system is sitting around since 2014 i would do a fresh install, and if you need backports, I would choose SolydXEE instead. It's going to be the next debian stable soon.

Re: Problem with nVidia
Não me tinha explicado bem.

Yes, I want to activate the Debian backports. He had not explained me well.
With regard to SOLYDXEE, does the enthusiastic edition refer?
Thanks for the response, it will help.

Re: Problem with nVidia
Please clarify:
Por favor, esclareça:
- which system is presently installed: SolydX regular or SolydXEE? This is important: SolydXEE does not need backports and does not have backports!
- which exact hardware? I'm guessing laptop - which one? And is it an optimus system - check here: https://wiki.debian.org/NvidiaGraphicsD ... tification?
- did you do anything specific after system installation - install drivers or change xorg or graphics configuration?
- and which problem - still no login like 2014? black screen?

Re: Problem with nVidia
- I'm with the SolydX System (64bts).
- Terminal output:
Code: Select all
xxxxxxxxxx@xxxxxxxxx:~$ lspci | grep 3D 01:00.0 3D controller: NVIDIA Corporation GM107M [GeForce GTX 950M] (rev ff)
- In the SolydX system settings I have the option to install the nVidia drivers, the installation never happened.
I decided to try the command (# ddm -i nvidia) after seeing the help shared in;
- The installation seems to have been successful, but how can I be sure?Code: Select all
file:///usr/share/solydxk/system/html/pt_PT/helpdd.html
- No, today (2019) I can log in without any problems, with all available updates installed.

I think so.
Is there any command or other way to be sure?
