FLOSS

Postby Gonzalo_VC » 18 Sep 2014 02:47

Question for the founders... or anybody with higher knowledge than me:

Debian is almost full FLOSS (no proprietary stuff). How much of that does SolydXK contains? Which external packs that might have some non-libre parts? Codecs, Flash, Java and what else?

Gonzalo_VC: You could install the "vrms" package and see for yourself!

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install vrms
The vrms program will analyze the set of currently-installed packages on a Debian-based system, and report all of the packages from the non-free and contrib trees which are currently installed.

the codecs are taken from debian's repo. w32, w64, and libdvdcss exist on the solydxk's multimedia repo but AFAIK it's not installed by default.
