Problems with Chromium

Postby be.li » 27 Oct 2014 17:48

Hello,

I installed Chromium. There I have two Problems.

1. Chromium is still in english and not in German. The package "chromium-l10n" is installed.
2. I can't type a Umlaut like ä, ü, ö and ß. In all other programms it works.

Could somebody help me to solve this problems?

Have a nice day,
Benjamin

EDIT:
And Flash also doens't work.

Ok i fixed the problem.

I used the command

Code: Select all

sudo dpkg-reconfigure locales
I don't know why EN_US was the default.

Flash requires sse2 support out of a cpu now.

Well, your cpu supports flash just fine. Not sure where you are going wrong since cpu and ram are up to the task
of playing online videos.

Use the locate command in terminal to find pepper flashplayer location in your computer since you are sure it is installed.

This example is not for pepper flash but Linux non free adobe flashplayer location. I don't do net flicks or run Chromium any more because I switched over to opera-developer_27.0.1670.0_amd64.deb which is a way faster browsiung experience
on my gear for me.

Code: Select all

$ locate libflashplayer.so
/usr/lib/adobe-flashplugin/libflashplayer.so
/var/lib/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so

The command for pepper flashplayer will be different than what I posted.

Code: Select all

locate pepflashplayer.sh
I guess you know you need to enable the pepperflashplayer in Chromium also. It does do that automatically
like Firefox or SeaMonkey does.

Here some Terminal-Output:

Code: Select all

/etc/alternatives/libflashplayer.so
/opt/solydxk-flashplugin/libflashplayer.so
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so
/var/lib/dpkg/alternatives/libflashplayer.so
benjamin@benjamin-laptop ~ $ locate pepflashplayer.sh
benjamin@benjamin-laptop ~ $ locate pepflashplayer.so
/usr/lib/pepperflashplugin-nonfree/libpepflashplayer.so
benjamin@benjamin-laptop ~ $ sudo update-pepperflashplugin-nonfree --status
Flash Player version installed on this system : 15.0.0.189
Flash Player version available on upstream site: 15.0.0.189
