Installing Virtualbox Extension Pack [SOLVED]

Postby iridesce » 02 Nov 2018 17:20

Greetings all,

Thanks for your participation in our most excellent distro

It's been awhile since I've been back as I haven't run into issues and am not as technically inclined as many here are.

So ... I just installed SolydK 201807 onto a new Penguin Pro 6 and ran into a snag when installing the virtualbox extension pack. It may be a kdesudo issue or just something I am ignorant about, in any case I'd appreciate your assistance.

I doublechecked that the extension pack is the same version as virtualbox, put the user in the sudo group and am still stuck ( on the password ?? ). The attachment shows the window for the command and password ( which I evidently don't know { neither the user or root ones bring joy } ).

The other attachment shows the Error messsage.

Thank you for your time and hopefully answer

We wish you and yours health, happiness and prosperity

LOL, my issue was in getting usb support so I could print from the XP VM ...

When the directions said to reboot after installing the Guest Additions, I thought it meant the Virtualbox VM ...
When I rebooted the SolydK installation, joy

Hope all have a relatively stressful and joyful holiday season
