[Request] gimp-plugin-registry

Postby Deleted User 2764 » 30 Jan 2014 00:02

I know zerozero pointed me to a page about it still being tested and thus not in the Debian repos yet. But when it finally is (I hope they will soon get that figured out), can we have that re-added?

Is there a way to keep the old version in until the new version comes in or is that entirely Debian Repo dependant?

gimp-plugin-registry doesn't fit into the category of the packages candidate to the community repo: it is available in debian, it's just not (temporary) in testing.

@zerozero: Does this mean we won't ever see it in the repo again or will it come back at some point? I'm kinda confused. :oops: If not I guess we can always google for it and download it.

the package is at the moment in squeeze, wheezy and sid (not testing) http://packages.debian.org/search?keywo ... n-registry
there's a dependency issue https://release.debian.org/migration/te ... n-registry blocking the migration
it will (in time) migrate

Hi,

I just build this package against solydxk64 today.
It is 1.3mb and max attachments is 256KiB, so I can not upload.

Put it on Dropbox, will leave it there for 24hrs.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/239 ... _amd64.deb

Have fun with it.

Hi,

There's something wrong on Dropbox [with this .deb] :
Error
Something went wrong. Don't worry, your files are still safe and the Dropboxers have been notified. Check out our Help Center and forums for help, or head back to home.
Edit: ....Solved (after a few minutes). The .deb downloaded successfully.

i could download the deb but is uninstalable due a dep non-existent in debian

Code: Select all

zerozero@home ~/Downloads $ sudo gdebi gimp-plugin-registry_5.20121030-solydxk_amd64.deb
[sudo] password for zerozero:

@zerzero: Maybe was that what you were referring to about the unsatisfied dependencies that they are trying to fix? I think what I'll do is wait for it to hit the repo, as it sounds like it will eventually.

And thanks to you I have learned a new valuable lesson on building projects. I'll have to put it in my notes to always build/test on a clean system. I'll use a virtual machine for that.

@zerozero
Oh, yes.
It is the only thing I have non-standard - infinality fonts which makes changes to libfreetype.
Just noticed that you built tlp as well - would have saved me a few minutes yesterday had I noticed.

@ravelnx
good idea to build in vm on "clean" install

I now build the package against the non patched, standard solydxk freetype library:

Maybe this will help maybe not, I use the plugin registry all the time I just downloaded the deb from debian and installed it and it works fine.
https://packages.debian.org/sid/gimp-plugin-registry
Just scroll to the bottom and snag the amd64 one if that's your system.
Found here: https://packages.debian.org/sid/amd64/g ... y/download
Some might be outdated and if that's the case they just won't work but 90% do :D
Got to have my plugins :D
