VirtBox USB support needs the user to be in the vboxusers group

... could we have that per default please?

And, as I just noticed, the package mc is missing in the ISO (while mc-data is there) and also htop would be nice.

I could add that in the live installer. The live installer is adding the vboxsf group. What's that for if not the same as vboxusers?

mc-data is a remnant of a purge a long time ago. It shouldn't be there and it will be removed in the next ISOs.

htop is a good idea. I'll add it in the next ISOs.

[EDIT]
On second thought. To keep the ISOs as clean as possible I think htop is a bit redundant. There is already a System Monitor in SolydK and a Task Manager in SolydX which shows more or less the same info as htop.

1. Please do not remove Midnight Commander but readd mc. Midnight commander is extremely useful if for some reason you have to use the (rescue) console. It's really small and adds a lot of comfort, so why not?

2. Leave out htop, no problem.

3. I can't tell you why but USB support started working as soon as the user was added to vboxusers group. Several tutorials mention this step, f.e. https://www.techrepublic.com/article/ho ... irtualbox/, https://help.ubuntu.com/community/VirtualBox/USB, https://wiki.debian.org/VirtualBox ...

Edit:
The following ‘vboxsf’ is the usergroup VirtualBox creates to share folders
https://nautilusmode.com/2016/10/02/vir ... nux-guest/ which is convincing if you look at the letters. It doesn't help with USB.

MC was never part of the official releases, only of the EEs. I used Frank's ISOs to build the SolydXK-9 ISOs and that's why you found the mc-data package still installed. For the official releases I want to prevent redundancy as much as possible and for those that need MC it is easy enough to install with all the other handy tools you would like to install.

I've added the vboxusers group to the new user in the Live Installer. I've implemented quite some changes in the Live Installer lately. So, testing is needed :D
