Forum Idea: Security Discussion Area?

Postby Deleted User 2764 » 24 Jan 2014 00:06

I haven't seen an area for discussing security issues. Not just viruses, spyware, exploits but also methods on how to keep your system as secure as possible. Maybe including discussions on best firewall settings, encrypting directories, and other security-related things.

Best firewall settings would be great.

I see the list of options and don't know what they refer to or where to start.

Sounds a good idea, like patzy, I have no idea where to start so leave things alone which isn't best practice

Thanks folks. I myself am having a firewall issue (for now I guess I'll put it in the software area) and need help with it. That's how I noticed there wasn't any place for Security discussions.

The inclusion of SELinux by default and Hard Drive Encryption in the installer would harden security, but the average user won't need these.
