What we can do is have everyone type in a list of names (or just one if that's all you think of at the moment) in this thread. When we get close to another stable release we will create/adjust a poll and people can vote on what the next name will be out of the names that were posted. The one with the winning votes will be used for the upcoming release! Here's what Schoelje says will happen when there is a release (from the thread: http://forums.solydxk.nl/viewtopic.php? ... 970#p53968) :
Thanks to palimmo for the idea of naming releases. The way I outlined above I remember from the Linux Mint forums where they did basically the same thing (or used to - I haven't been to their forums in a long while).Schoelje wrote:The current name (in the repository) for this version is solydxk. You can see that in the line in your sources.list:

So, should we start off with the letter "A" and move through the alphabet? Or should we go by a certain theme? Or both? What theme should we use? Maybe go A-Z for a certain theme and when we exhaust all the letters we can change theme? palimmo suggested "Andromeda" for example which is the name of a star system (correct me if I'm wrong - I'm not great at astronomy). So we could do space themes. Or Animals? Or names of famous robots?
What do you think? Post here!
