Specify partition label during installation

Postby bas_otten » 21 Jun 2015 12:40

Just a thought:
Would it be possible to include in the Installer the option for the user to directly specify a Label for the partition that SolydXK is installed to? Currently I reboot my system with the SystemRescueCD after installation to set the Label to a pretty value (SOLYDK) other than <none> - but I tend to forget this step :). Or is there some other best practice for doing this?

Instead of rebooting immediately once the installation has finished, you could fire up gparted to set the label. That's what I do. Unless I forget... ;)

That's indeed a quicker way to get it done, thanks. Exactly: unless I forget ;) It's so seductive to click Yes in the window that proposes to reboot after correct installation. So it may still count as a nice-to-have feature for the Installer
