Hi all.

Could you implement an option at installation of Full Disk Encryption like there is in many other distros like Linux Mint, Ubuntu, Xubuntu, etc. The LUKS option.

Thanks.

It is already done and available in the nightly builds: http://forums.solydxk.nl/viewtopic.php?f=78&t=5904

When do you reckon it will be implemented in the main SolydXK distro?

With the next official release: somewhere in January.

Hi Schoelje.

I ran the latest nightly build ISO in VirtualBox and took this screenshot [attached image]. It setup encryption fine. Is this partitioning setup good [img]? I meant to leave out swap as I don't need it and also it adds complication to partitioning with encryption.

BTW, I had to download the iso via direct download because unfortunately the torrent has no seeders.

It's a minimal setup but it should work.

Due to its nature (not an official release and regularly updated) the nightlies are only offered as a direct download link.

I'd love an option with a slider (or other GUI method) to choose separate home, swap, and root sizes. With full encryption being applied to 3 of those partitions and being asked for just 1 password at bootup. And of course the boot partition of about 500MB being setup with no encryption.

GParted already does this...

http://gparted.org/display-doc.php%3Fna ... on-details
To specify the size and the location of the partition, use one or a combination of the following:
Click-and-hold the arrow at either end of the graphic area. Drag the arrow left or right within the display range.
Click-and-hold the middle of the partition in the graphic area. Drag the partition left or right within the display range.
Click the spin button arrows, or type numeric values to adjust the following fields:
Free Space Preceding
New Size
Free Space Following
The application refreshes both the graphic area and the numbers beside the three field labels.

Hi Zill.

Yes I should have left out that GUI request as Gparted does a great job -- but I'd like separate swap, home, and root partitions -- encrypted with the same password and to only get asked once at bootup for the password.
