Show your Desktop Screenshots

I've changed the behavior for inline image attachments.
It now will create a thumbnail (if all goes well) with a max of 700px wide.
Let me know if it works or not.

Note: this only works for images you attach and place inline. Images from external links will not resize.

I've just started playing around with the look in vbox. I'm hoping to install it on real hardware later today.

This is SolydX with the Zutikwo theme and a transparent panel background:

Once the project officially goes live, are we planning on have a monthly screenshot thread?

Hi cww

Yes, that's a good idea. I gotta change themes, backgrounds, et. at least once a month, or I get bored with them... 8-)

I have one install that I haven't changed in a while (and it is my main install right now). On my other installs I change desktop parts very often, and I reinstall them occasionally.

Recently I've taken an interest with DEs/WMs that I haven't used much before. I was especially interested in lightweight WMs like OpenBox. Here's OpenBox on CrunchBang pointing to Debian Testing:
Image
It and some of the other OpenBox (and LXDE) distros are very fast. Xfce is still my favorite by far, but I've been tempted to switch to OpenBox on one of my other machines (which actually runs Xfce fairly quickly).

Thank you :) , and yours is really great too :D . KDE is often called the most configurable DE, but I have never figured out how to do much with it. I had the Unofficial LMDE KDE installed once, but I didn't do much with it (it was fairly stock). So I'm kind of in awe of your KDE config skills  .

:)
lately i don't tweak (much  ) my installs: when i find a good setup i just leave it like that and with kde this is possible for loong time 8-)

the plasma theme used here is fusighi (released on early 2011) listed as kde 4.6 compatible but still functional with 4.9.5

That looks very good zerozero :D . TBH I don't think I've ever gotten past changing the theme in KDE... I've gotten SolydX installed now and I'm doing some base configs, but I'll probably wait until tomorrow to post a screenshot.

'zz' Beautiful desktop, as always.... :)
I have always liked those icons..

I just sucessfully (and painlessly) upgraded my unofficial lmde-xfce install to SolydX using Scheoje's excellent upgrade path.

Code: Select all

su
echo "deb http://packages.solydxk.com/ solydxk main upstream import" >> /etc/apt/sources.list
apt-get update
apt-get install solydxk-keyring
apt-get update
apt-get install solydk-meta
apt-get update
reboot
It works a charm... ;)

This install is highly tweaked =
SMXI with =
Liquorix 3.7.0-8.dmz.1
Nvidia 313.18
AWN dock
Rainlendar
Compiz
Emerald
Zukitwo Theme
(Gotta change that Mint icon [nice as it is] to SolydX in AWN dock).

This looks very interesting 8-) ! I've been meaning to try a vertical panel since Xfce 4.10 came out, but I haven't gotten around to it.

i did it to get vertical room for wide display.

Thanks for the info. I've been looking forward to trying the deskbar mode in Xfce 4.10 as well as the vertical mode. TBH I don't really know the difference (I just looked at them quickly), but I remember that Xfce 4.10 was supposed to have better vertical panel support through the deskbar.

Guys you've got interesting desktops. Mine isn't really original
I will take a little time to improve it...
After that, I 'll show it to you :)
They did not know it was impossible so they did it.
