SolydK 64 bit
Theme: almost the one proposed in the new SolydK nightly build (04.01.2015): Evolvere icons; widget style Qtcurve; Desktop theme: Air for netbooks
Window decorators: Flatsquare Teal

One of the big reasons I hate Windows 8 is the ugly window decoration. But I love the color in your snapshot. Personally, I use "Seven" which is a Windows 7 type semi-transparent window decoration. Looks nice and goes with everything. :)

Well, Here's my new Solydk install with the Jan2015 32Bit iso.
I'm running SolydK on a Dell 910 Mini Inspiron NetBook 1GB RAM, Atom N270 1.6 CPU, 16 GB PATA mini SSD card.

This is what my desktop typically looks like:

I like the oxygen theme: to me it strikes a good balance between beauty and productivity.

SolydK, Evolvre icons theme (upgraded my SolydK HE to Jessie), Weather widget is plasma-widget-cwp which is found in the repository. Wallpaper can be found here.

Yeah, it's that cold where I live. The wind chill (aka 'feels like') temperature was actually at -31 at one point!

SolydK 64bit on HP Intel core2 duo laptop.
Wallpaper: material design
Dalilsha Icons set:

EDIT: In reply to the 2 topic reply notifications I just received may I underline that I am not running Windows and I am not evangelizing for Microsoft. I installed the Dalisha icons set because I like it and because I do not like the Evolvere icons at all. I searched the web for a desktop wallpaper to complement the Dalisha icons set period. That is how I like my desktop, and your taste may be different so good for you. I referenced the links for quick access just in case other members are interested. What the screenshot of my desktop does not show is the auto-hide panel at the top of the screen with various icons such as system tray, folder, trash, etc.

They may be advertising their wallpaper site, since they only had 1 post. However, it kinda is on topic so I'm going to let it go (though that doesn't mean another moderator may have different thoughts. :) )

It is a nice wallpaper. Would look better on a SolydXK desktop, IMHO. :)

I like to keep my desktop relatively uncluttered.

That said, I do have an appreciation of wallpapers. ;)

Very nice, Qwertius. I wish I could have such a nice clean desktop. Could I get a link to your wallpaper?

My desk isn't quite clean but I like having the info handy within a desktop spin (of my 3D cube desktop).

Note to self: I need to refresh my memory on how to get desktop screenshots postable. I keep getting error messages saying my file is too big. D'oh!

Hello BostonPeng.

Sorry for the delay.

Here is a copy of the wallpaper I have been using.

Code: Select all

Just copy/paste the address into another page & you should see the image. :)

Not my work : but I really like it. 8-)

Maybe someone with some graphics know how could change the words and add 'SolydXK' to the image.

Cheers

Just a tip for posting weblinks on the SolydXK forums...
If you use "URL" tags, rather than "Code" tags, then the text automatically becomes a hyperlink to the relevant webpage. e.g.

Code: Select all

http://postimg.org/image/4k3dcocf3/
http://postimg.org/image/4k3dcocf3/

Thanks. Don't worry about the delay. My online time is so limited I just got online and was able to snag it today. One of these days I really need to get 'net access at home. :(
