[brainstorming] Professionalize/Improving translations

Postby ane champenois » 10 Jun 2014 09:32

Improving translations
As you can see in this post here, our translations system is ATM centralized on Schoelje.
In order to allow more and more people to help translating easily, we have to find other ways to do. This post will sum up propositions made by members of the community.
Please give us ideas, opinions, options. this post is yours! :D
They did not know it was impossible so they did it.

I found a past topic:
http://forums.solydxk.nl/viewtopic.php?t=387

Launchpad appears here. (Ubuntu, Linux Mint and KDE adopts it):
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu
https://launchpad.net/linuxmint
https://launchpad.net/kde

The places to adopt Transifex increase. (Manjaro, antiX(now) and MATE Desktop adopts it):
https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/manjaro-thus/
https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/antix-development/
https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/MATE/

Many people can set out that they can work online for translation work.

When we use other services in translation,
package reflection when it was updated is concerned about.
But I thought that this could be settled in Github.

This is all right:
https://github.com/wjaguar/mtPaint/tree/master/po

The person with the account can perform fork and pull request.

There is the merit that Schoelje has already used:
https://github.com/Schoelje

Yes this is very interesting, because as you noticed, Schoelje (and SolydXK) already has a github account.
I think that Schoelje did it :) https://github.com/Schoelje/solydxk-locale
They did not know it was impossible so they did it.
