SolydK in Swedish

Postby Magnus Johansson » 17 Mar 2016 14:11

Hello! I tried to join the translation team for SolydK at Transifex in late January and requested the Swedish language, but nothing has happened as far as I know. What's up?

I could have made a mistake but when I look at all the SolydXK projects Transifex, I cannot see any requests. However, I see a notification of a request by you made in January for the updatemanager and I did create the Swedish translation immediately after: https://www.transifex.com/solydxk/updat ... age/sv_SE/

For which projects did you request the Swedish translations?

Arjen, your first link didn't work and the second couldn't connect with the translation server. I do not have SolydXK listed as an organization in my Transifex account's organization menu. Maybe I only requested Swedish for the Update Manager but my intention was to join the organization as Swedish translator.

I have sent you a Transifex invitation.
Did you receive it?

For some reason Transifex can't connect to the server for the SolydXK translation. I checked with another organization's translation and there was no problem.

If I follow the link I have to login. After that all works as expected.
Do you get the login page and how do you login (I use my Github account)?

That is unfortunately not the case for me. I do not get the login page when I follow your links. I log in by visiting Transifex startpage but Transifex can't connect to the server of SolydXK even if I am already logged in and I have selected the organization Solyd XK which is now in my organization menu. (By the way: Transifex steals the shortcuts Alt+1-9 when I open the tab with its site so I have to use the mouse(!) to switch tabs now when KDE has failed to preserve Ctrl+Tab to switch tabs.)

I really have no idea why it is not working for you.
Perhaps if you send them an e-mail with this issue you get a better answer than I can give you.

Yes, I shall try that. However, I managed to access and translate updatemanager.pot. There seems to be limitations to what I may translate within SolydXK. When trying to access live-installer-3, Swedish is listed in grey.

FWIW, I do not have (or want!) a Transifex account but this is the screen I see when I click on the earlier link https://www.transifex.com/solydxk

If this logon screen is not visible then I suggest it could be due to either javascript being disabled and/or one or more browser add-ons interfering with functionality.

You could try starting Firefox with add-ons disabled as detailed here: "How to Start Firefox in Safe Mode". Alternatively, you could try another browser, such as Chromium. Again, it might be worth disabling add-ons.

Perhaps that's because Transifex makes a difference between sv and sv_SV? I'm just guessing here. I've sent you an invitation for the live-installer-3 sv translation as well.

Do you want me to make sv_SV translations for all projects or do you prefer to ask for a translation when you have the time?

Thanks for your advice, Zill.

Arjen, yes; do make Swedish translation files for all projects so I do not have to ask for each one of them. However, do they have to be sv_SV and not just sv?

Both are good, but if you prefer sv I'll make that.
