It's not doing so well on my main machine. In fact, it hangs every single time I reboot or shutdown. With sysvinit, rebooting/shutting down would hang only occasionally and I could always kill the process that wouldn't quit with a single Ctrl+C. Not so with systemd. I have to Alt+SysRq+REISUB/REISUO to get out of that. Annoying, but not much more than that for me. Just hoping others whose system gets 'upgraded' to systemd don't experience the same issue...

Updated the original post but that might not be visable - so I post the update here as well

Issues:
mysql-workbench (GTK) does not display any results http://i.imgur.com/pDqObCe.png - i tested latest version (had to compile myself) and the one in the repo 6.1.7.
Looks like this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... ug/1155571

And debian bug: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugrepo ... bug=763356

I have downgraded libglib to 2.40.0 and mysql-workbench is now working as it should.

Would it solve these issues if I upgrade libglib2.0-0 with sid's version?

Nope - same issue - it's a mysql-workbench bug: http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=74147 not much SolydXK can do about. I will have to run my system with 2.40.0 so I can get some work done...

Three more uneventful ups here at Fleabus' Antique Shop:

SolydX32, Gateway 500XL (JAN 2004) P4 2.8, Gateway's stock Intel D865 board, 2g ram, nv5200 video

SolydX32, Homebuilt (JUN 2004), P4 2.8, Intel D850EMV2, 2g RDRAM,
Adaptec 29160 SCSI + 3x Quantum Atlas 10K 37gig, nv5200 video

(Gotta get rid of those slooow nv5200s!)

SolydK64, Dell gx620 (DEC 2006) Pentium D 3.4, Intel 945 board, 4g ram, onboard intel video

These old guys are no challenge for Solyd, and this'll be the last of my thread-clogging with the "no problem here" posts.

Now that all the UPs are for the most part done, I'll go play with the apps and yell if there's a problem....

I apologize for not being here lately. We're down with the flue and I haven't even touched the keyboard this weekend.

I've updated live-installer, ddm, debian-plymouth-manager, and solydxk-sws to fix the Gtk2 bug.

New ISOs are on their way. I'll create a new topic when I'm done.

Can you create a list of all packages that I should add/update to our repository?
Preferably with links.

It's based on something I started a couple of days ago, just to keep track of this particular mess. I had a vague idea to do something useful with it, but that never got off the ground.
All items with 'packages' links could be entered into the UP set directly. Those with 'patch' links usually require the source to be patched and repackaged. Don't know if that's doable. The ones that currently don't have a fix may get fixed yet.

I'm afraid I spoke way too soon. I have hope. Sometimes not such a good thing! Issues have begun to crop up here too. It's funny, the come-and-go nature of these things. Happened like that with the previous version too. At first I had a long delay, both starting up and shutting down. Then everything started to behave very well for a few startup/shutdown cycles -- right up until I began to play around on a daily basis with the various apps I use. Not many. My needs are simple. Firefox, Calibre, qt4-fsarchiver, coolreader, vlc, devede.... And don't even try to boot with a blank dvd in the drive. systemd goes nuts when it sees that, gives me screenful after screenful of sr1 errors, until I put it out of its misery.

Once the system is started, it seems to behave pretty well. Startup/shutdown is when the comedy hour starts, same as the rest of you.

 I apologize for the premature evaluations.

Edit: At any rate, I am nitpicking here, as everything is fine otherwise. These issues come and go as systemd gets ironed out. This post came off a lot stronger than intended. On reread, it sounds like a rant, again apologies!

Sometimes systemd related happenings bug me so much that it blows my objectivity...

It may be a good idea anyway. According to this (by a Debian developer), the symlinks should have been removed already.

I've seen the latest replies to/by maxibuntu in the Breakages/Debian Testing thread and it seems that 208-8 doesn't cause problems for everyone, but it did for me.
