I found a small problem with the EE iso's.
The timezone settings in both the Solydx and solydk were incorrect. In the solydx vm the date command returns the time in CEST, 6 hours ahead of New York. Looking at /etc/localtime appears to be a binary with readable references to CEST. Looking at /usr/share/zoneinfo/America/New_York, it is a link to /usr/share/zoneinfo/posixrules.

In solydk vm date returns a time that is labeled as EDT, which is correct for America/New_York, but the time displayed is 1 hour ahead of the actual EDT time. In the solydk vm /etc/localtime is a symbolic link to /usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe/Amsterdam.

I chose timezone America/New_York in the installer for both installs.

In both vm's I did this:

Code: Select all

sudo rm /etc/localtime
sudo ln -s /usr/share/zoneinfo/America/New_York /etc/localtime
This did correct the time in both vm's. I found the solution at https://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?pid=32557#p32557

I suppose the second command should be:

Code: Select all

sudo ln -s /usr/share/zoneinfo/America/New_York /etc/localtime
or else you'll make a symbolic link named "New_York" in the current directory.

Oops. Thanks for catching that Schoelje. I did it correctly in the program but was hasty in composing the post.
I edited the post.

Curious. Isn't this something the live installer should handle? I know the live boot never gets it right (time is always off by hours), but once you've installed it should be OK. I've certainly never seen that fail here.

Yes, please. Unless failing to set the clock/time properly after installation is considered too much of a nuisance.

Can anyone please tell me, are there any torrent links for the Community Editions?

No, only the official releases have torrents and mirrors.

Congratulations! :D
Together I immediately publish the ISO to Japan of the mirror OSDN,
I have to generate a Japanese ISO now.

In SolydX 32 bit, I when performing the ISO build due to SolydXK Constracutor,
has encountered trouble some of the partition has been destroyed.

Add: I am guessing that it is SolydXK Constructor side of the problem:

Just one (SolydX EE 64) and apparently broken in some way. The upload has just finished, so the file should appear here at the top of the hour.
I can't get this thing to work. In a VM it doesn't 'see' the mouse and on real hardware what happens is very similar to what's described here: lots of lines with "IO charset ascii not found" and "mounting on /live/medium failed: Invalid argument" and finally a busybox console with "unable to find a medium containing a live file system" (and "no supported filesystem images found at /live" followed by a kernel panic if you exit that).

I've been off the radar for a couple of weeks, after the unexpected death of a very good friend (and next door neighbour for the past 38 years). Something like that tends to take the fun out of a lot of things and I was hoping building some ISOs would improve my mood... :(

I'd appreciate it if people could try this ISO to check whether it really is a bad egg. If it isn't, my setup may have issues.

I'm really sorry to hear that. Unfortunately I know how it is to loose somebody dear to you. There are no words I can say to change that or help you through what you go through. However, I can help you with the ISO...I've downloaded and booted the ISO and I saw what you described. I will see what I can do but I won't have much time. I'll post back if I find something of interest.

Thanks. Take your time. I don't think I'll do much computer related stuff this month anyway.

You have my sympathy Frank. Please take time out with your friends and family and do whatever it takes to help you move on. The ISOs can wait and the forums will tick-over nicely until you want to get back online.

I've just built and tried SolydK EE and had the same issue.
I bet that the live packages were not updated for the new kernel yet.

Currently uploading new 32-bit Jessie ISOs. They should show up here at the top of the hour. Untested, as usual.

No new EEs at this moment, I'm afraid. I still haven't found a solution for the VBox problem and there are other issues.

Arjen, could you remove the 201612 SolydX EE ISO currently in ce/testing? That one is broken as well.

De 32-bit ISOs are now available for testing and the corrupt ISO has been removed.

Thanks! I realise I forgot to mention I uploaded a new set last Wednesday. I assume the ISO you tested was the 11 January one?
