(The same happens with the lastest stable ISO.) I tried downloading it from torrents, but I never did see any shares so I snagged it again. It showed as a text file but right clicking on it let me burn it to a blank DVD with K3B, but my system doesn't recognize it as a bootable volume. Could this be due to my messed up system? I have a bootable USB of the latest current stable ISO but the USB Creator complains that it isn't a current, recognizable ISO. Any suggestions?
We tried to deal with the USB issue but I'm still stuck with the ISO being recognized as a text file. I just snagged the latest stable ISO and via torrents and get the same thing. Where should I post this issue? Here or in a different topic?

For me, most ISOs are recognized as plain text. It never bothered me and I don't understand what is really the problem. Could you clarify?

Now K3B is willing to burn the ISO. I'll run it through it's paces and see if I can get it to boot.

For some reason, my laptop refuses to boot from the DVD drive. I have the LiveUSB I used to install Linux on this beast so I'll do one final backup and then use the USB to install the 201506 version of SolydK. "ll blow away the root partition and make a new user in the /home partition. Hopefully that will let me keep my existing data while I rebuild my machine.

Sorry to hijack the thread. When I get reinstalled I'll snag the new USB Creator and see if I can get the 21512 ISO build on a USB drive and install from that.

@grizzler
ISO file association issue: http://forums.solydxk.nl/viewtopic.php?p=58610#p58610
I could solve this by importing shared-mime-info (1.5-2) from stretch into our repository.
Shall I?

Doesn't seem to break anything, judging by the dependency requirements. I'd go for it.

I've uploaded new ISOs with the new shared-mime-info and Thunderbird: http://downloads.solydxk.nl/nightly/

I'd like to release these tonight because I won't have any time the next week or release in January if there are any objections to do it tonight.

Might as well release them now, I guess. I don't really expect much more (test) feedback anyway.

The 32-bit Stable editions have essentially the same set of packages as the main editions, so I suppose they're ready. The SolydX EEs are quite stable and the SolydK EEs still have some issues that need to be fixed upstream (e.g. dolphin crashing on certain context menu movements and not showing icons when run as root). How long should we wait for that?

I wouldn't. I'll mention it in the blog. So that people know what they can expect.

Shall I?

Sorry grizzler, but I only have half an hour to do this. After that, I won't be here for a few days. So, I'll release the CEs as well without waiting for your reply. My apologies if this wasn't your intention.
