Running my normal apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade I get and error about

Code: Select all

E: Repository 'http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb stable Release' changed its 'Origin' value from 'Google, Inc.' to 'Google LLC'
N: This must be accepted explicitly before updates for this repository can be applied. See apt-secure(8) manpage for details.
Looking around the net, the fix is supposed to be

Code: Select all

mit@andora:~$ sudo apt update
and I get the following error, I don't get any option to enter Y?

Code: Select all

Hit:1 http://deb.debian.org/debian testing InRelease
Ign:2 http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb stable InRelease

Any thoughts, I last ran a software update over the weekend without issue

you can try to reset it. comment on that repo entry, run "sudo apt update", re-add/uncomment the repo entry, run "sudo apt update" once more.

The problem is our apt isn't the real apt. You want the one that got diverted, i.e.

Code: Select all

sudo apt.divert update
should do what you want and ask you if you want to accept Google LLC.

Grizzler

Tried your suggestion but ended with the same result as before when I tried your suggestion

Kurotsugi

Tried your suggestion and it seems to have worked, when I uncommented the line and ran sudo apt update it ran through without an issue

Thank for your help guys

I muddled around with this quite a while and finally got it working with this command.

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get --allow-releaseinfo-change update
