Updating SolydK EE

Postby tek10 » 03 Jan 2019 02:21

I've had good success using the update notification in SolydK EE, which uses Discover, to perform updates. For the past few weeks I no longer see the percent progress of a running update in Discover. Is anyone else observing this?

Is it still a good idea to update with Discover? The updates do eventually complete successfully.

it is considered safer and better if we did it from terminal, mainly for two reason:
1. the upgrade process is easy to monitor. upon trouble quick action is easy
2. you should use "apt-get dist-upgrade" command. IIRC only the old solydxk updater could do that. I don't even know whether if current updater use this command or not
