My router supports L2TP with IPsec and when I'm on travel I want to use it with my laptop running SolydX EE.
This does not work at the same time I'm connected to the same router through WiFi but it did work when I used my phone as a hot spot.
I can't figure out why it didn't work, does any one here have any idea's as to why?
Thanks
Setting up L2TP with IPsec
Re: Setting up L2TP with IPsec
It's probably too optimistic to assume anybody here will have any idea about "L2TP with IPsec". Maybe pm kurotsugi ...
Re: Setting up L2TP with IPsec
Thanks,
It's working I was just curious because I’m using the routers wifi which comes from my ISP so I’m already connected to it so I think this is why it doesn't work.

Re: Setting up L2TP with IPsec
the vpn server was made so that you could securely connect to your router anywhere. in this case there's no benefit if you want to connect the vpn while already connected to it. AFAIK you didn't own the server. the ISP manage the server and it simply route the VPN server to your router. perhaps they configure it that way to avoid unnecessary traffic.

Re: Setting up L2TP with IPsec
It's pretty standard that you cannot go out of one interface in a router and back in on another. If that was possible, a routing loop could easily occur which would flood your network.
