if you feel up for a small experiment we can try install the newer kernel from sid and see if your card is better supported with it
[the question that i've been reading about this card is that is very recent and only the latest kernel versions have support for it; you can see similar support questions in the latest ubuntu release]

if you are up to it ;) let's start
let's create a file to place the new sid repos

Code: Select all

sudo touch /etc/apt/sources.list.d/sid.list
now place the repo into the file

Code: Select all

sudo echo 'deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian unstable main contrib non-free' | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/sid.list
update the cache so that the system knows we added sid

Code: Select all

apt update
install the new kernel and headers

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install linux-image-3.11-1-amd64 linux-headers-3.11-1-amd64
update grub (it should be updated in the kernel installation but just to be sure) so we have the latest kernel at boot

Code: Select all

sudo update-grub
remove sid (we don't want to mistakenly upgrade with it enabled)

Code: Select all

sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/sid.list
update to clear the cache

Code: Select all

apt update
reboot
check the wireless

solved
