The information you are giving has some inconsistencies. It says

Code: Select all

SolydX 7 64-bit - all updates
-Version-
Kernel : Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 (x86_64)
Compiled : #1 SMP Debian 3.2.78-1
C Library : Unknown
Default C Compiler : GNU C Compiler version 4.7.2 (Debian 4.7.2-5)
Distribution : SolydX 8 64-bit
Notice different SolydX version numbers and the kernel version also does not seem to be right. It should be 3.16.
Please open a terminal, and enter

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxz
inxi -r
Post the output and best use code tags for it (look at the little symbols just above the forum editor window).

Hallo ilu,

thank you.

inxi -Fxz
inxi -r

I can do this at the eavening.

I use solydx 7

I have switch in 2015 to the debian wheezy repository and the new solydx repository - it worked fine till 30.04.2016.

The Kernel is : Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 (x86_64).

Distribution : SolydX 8 64-bit - its not true. Its only the label.

Greetings Lutz

Since SolydXK is based on jessie I'm surprised it even worked with wheezy up to now. I don't think it will work again. SolydXK was based on jessie since 2013. You can try updating your system to jessie but I don't know whether that will work. My best advise would be to backup your data and reinstall.
One of the more experienced guys here may have a better advice for you but I would not bet on that.

This must have been one of the Business Editions, which was based on Wheezy. I believe there was an option to stay with Wheezy when Jessie became Stable, but I'm not sure how well the SolydXK specific items would continue to work. However, as long as the Debian side is 'all Wheezy', at least that bit should (I think...).

Judging by this, Wheezy has just been handed over to the long term support team. I'm not sure whether that would have any noticable effect at this time.

Edit
I checked the solydxk-system package, because I remembered seeing some reference to systemd, which Wheezy doesn't support. But that change was already introduced mid March, so if that had been the cause things wouldn't have continued to work until the end of April.

@Arjen,
What's the status of these Wheezy based installations? I seem to remember the Jessie->Stable move did not include a forced upgrade for them, but I could be mistaken.

There was even an upgrade page for business editions to Wheezy: viewtopic.php?f=32&t=5246
Unfortunately, there are too few people still using the BEs with Wheezy and too little time for me to also test the SolydXK packages on those systems.

If you think an older version of solydxk-system will solve this issue, you can download a custom Wheezy build here: http://downloads.solydxk.nl/dev/solydxk-system/
Systemd was introduced in version 2.2.0. So, I've used version 2.1.9 and upgraded the rest to 2.2.6.

If that works, I'll upload that version to our repository.
