No tuktuk22, you just need to try it again.
You were upgrading while I was synchronizing the repositories: http://forums.solydxk.nl/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=388

I've installed SolydK again on a second partition and edited my sources.list (straight copy and paste) and updated as instructed.
Now when I click on [Update Pack Info] I get a warning which says

“Some of your repositories point to production, others point to testing Please check your APT sources.”
If I look at Software Sources I don't see the word “production” anywhere.
Is that right?

That is right: you're not pointing to the default production repositories.
It's just a reminder that you changed your sources.list

Hello everyone, I've installed SolydX, the XFCE version. It's ready for breakages. install is fresh. The only thing that's missing is GRUB and plymout, because I'm using the installation of the main system for that. Should I just update and see what happens? Do i activate proprietary nvidia drivers?

zoran,
at this point upgrading should be pretty straightforward :)
update the system first (my humble suggestion) and install the driver after.
good luck and a big thank you for joining us here in the squad 8-)

Like zerozero said, there shouldn't be any breakages currently. However, with the release of Wheezy, Debian Testing is going to start moving again, and June's UP might bring some breakages.

I just updated and everything went fine. The only thing that's a bit confusing is that update manager reports that there's updates event after I've updated the system. There's no packages that can be updated, there's just a message that there's a new update pack. Maybe it's because I used terminal during update?

you are not the first one to see that  http://forums.solydxk.nl/viewtopic.php? ... t=20#p5450 (according to Schoelje that shouldn't be happening but you know that software "sometimes" doesn't listen to the creator)

This update manager stuff confuses me... I use it for my two SolydXK Testing installs, but otherwise I use the command line. It doesn't have this feature at all, so it won't have any problems with it

Just check the UP info: is there a difference in installed and available UP version?

It works OK now, I did a reinstall and updated my system and update manager was refreshed and is showing the correct info after update completes.

Since I sold my computer soon after I volunteered, I wasn't able to do any testing. However, I just now set up a VM with SolydX aimed at the SolydXK Testing repo.

From page 1, "how we do it (the real deal)

we have to chance our sources.list to solydXK testing
in SolydX

I'm on the proof reading squad...chance should be change..just a nit pick..Other than seeding the torrent I don''t know enough to help yet.

I see that you're missing the current pack level.
Let's create that first:

Code: Select all

su
echo "2013.08.06" > /var/log/updatemanager.packlevel
Just to be sure, restart UM (Quit from tray).

Your sources.list looks like this on my system:
