Backups in KDE

Postby smackthepony » 02 Jul 2014 14:49

KUP as a frontend to BUP (Backup Plan)

allows you to make selective (sceduled) backups in KDE.
The interface is very intuitive and easy to understand.
Here's some screens to give you guys an impression.

Setting up a Backup
KUP1.jpg
Select what files to backup
KUP2.jpg
Select where to put it
KUP3.jpg
to install:
32bits

Code: Select all

wget ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/repositories/home:/simper:/kup/Debian_7.0/i386/kup_0.4.2-1_i386.deb

Code: Select all

sudo gdebi kup_0.4.2-1_i386.deb
64bits

Code: Select all

wget ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/repositories/home:/simper:/kup/Debian_7.0/amd64/kup_0.4.2-1_amd64.deb

Code: Select all

sudo gdebi kup_0.4.2-1_amd64.deb
The frontend can be found in System Settings ==> System Administration

Thanks for sharing and uses compression I assume.
And thinking of giving it a whirl with still using Redo backup for partitions backup before quarterly updates.
And this in-between quarterly updates and gives me individual files access which Redo does not.

Thanks for sharing.
