with 201308 iso, wireless does not work for AR9485, ath9k

On my new Asus q200e...
inxi -x -N
shows
Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 Wireless Network Adapter driver: ath9k

Using 201308 iso image with Network Manager I can't connect to my wifi network.
It shows networks but will not connect
Booting with 201306 iso image and Wicd I can connect to any network without problems.

Suggestions? Should I install 08 or 06 and upgrade. I kinda prefer Wicd's interface.
I am not working near an ethernet cable so was hopping to do this over wifi but do not want to be stuck without wifi if I install 08 and still can't connect.

according to the wiki https://wiki.debian.org/ath9k that device should be supported (and the fact that n-m sees networks and the inxi output identifies the device and the driver reinforces that)

can you be more precise? what fails? it doesn't accept your password? accepts but keeps disconnecting? gives any other error?

thanks for replying so quick.

Code: Select all

can you be more precise? what fails? it doesn't accept your password? accepts but keeps disconnecting? gives any other error?
I see my wireless networks, it asks for the password but never connects.
It just keeps prompting me for the password over and over. I am using the same password for the wifi when booting to 201306 iso and it works there so it has to be something in the encryption and password negotiation I'm suspecting.

Any ideas?

definitely it's not a driver problem.
what kind of encryption you are using (and n-m has pre-defined?) WEP? WPA?

n-m has pre-defined? I'm not sure what this means?
older wifi router only does b and g. Not n

I have 2 wifi networks. one is WPA and one is WPA2
Can't connect to either. I have not tried turning off encryption yet which would be worth a try.
