Postby thehabus » 02 Feb 2016 19:52

Hi guys! i have a problem with my integrated webcam, the image looks very dark , almost black...
also there are flickering...

I have an HP Pavilion dv6, The webcam is an HP TrueVisionHD and Skype finds it (/dev/video0).
With Linux Mint it never happened...

Any Ideas?

Sorry for my English and thanks!

I have the same machine and "Cheese" works fine.
It looks like a Skype issue.

thehabus: You can test your webcam with VLC which should be installed by default.

Open VLC then menu Media > Open Capture Device > Set Capture Mode to Video Camera. Set Video device name as required (e.g. /dev/video0). Then hit "Play" button at the bottom to display your video camera output.

Which specific video applications have problems with your webcam?
