Code: Select all
options snd-hda-intel model=autoto the bottom of /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf (this is the method suggested by slackware)
was a tip from cwwgateway in an other topic that did the tric for me, everything works fine now

auto seems to be better than generic

When the decision was made (with the first ISO release), there were relatively few testers and IIRC zerozero's audio only worked with model=generic. Subsequently people have have been having problems with audio. I believe most distros either leave it blank (which may default to model=auto or something similar, but this is just a guess) or use model=auto. I believe Schoelje may add sound cards to DDM, but currently it requires manual intervention. I don't know what the default setting on the next ISO will be, though.
I'll add your sound card to the database now (well really in a couple of minutes, but almost now).

maybe this is an inherited issue.
